Hola: Healing, Testimonies, and Transformation

On April 23, 2025, we set out for Hola, a modest but significant town tucked away in Tana River County. As the county headquarters, Hola serves as a central hub in a region rich in culture and resilience. The journey there was more than just physical; it was emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. As we traveled through shifting weather and changing landscapes, I was reminded of the diversity of this beautiful country and the richness of the cultures that shape it. We were heading to Hola to reconnect with three alumni from our DTA 2023 program.
In addition to reconnecting, we were to conduct training at a local church in Mikinduni village. From Thursday the 24th to Sunday the 27th, the church became a sanctuary not just for worship, but for healing and transformation.
We taught on; An introduction to inner healing, the Orphan Spirit and the Father Heart of God. We also explored deeply rooted issues like rejection, unforgiveness, and shame, topics that many wrestle with silently but rarely voice. We also taught on Altars of the Land and welcomed the beautiful work of the Holy Spirit.
What struck us most was the hunger in the room for truth and freedom. The church was alive with questions, reflections, and testimonies. Attendance was encouraging, ranging from 50 participants on quieter days to a high of 87. Yet, the numbers only tell part of the story. It was the deep thirst for healing, the kind that only God can give, that made each moment unforgettable.
Beyond the training, we spent meaningful time catching up with our alumni.
Subira has launched a vibrant youth ministry. She and a group of young people have formed a band, performing at weddings and events. But more than music, Subira brings mentorship. Before rehearsals, she teaches the team principles she learned in DTA, grounding them in biblical identity and purpose.
Lawrence, now serves as an assistant pastor and ministers especially among minority groups and the Muslim community in his region. He shared with us the powerful story of four individuals from the Islamic faith who have given their lives to Christ. His boldness, combined with his gentleness, has opened doors that only the Spirit can explain.
Yunia has faithfully taken root in a home fellowship, where she teaches every Thursday. Her consistency and servant-hearted leadership are quietly transforming lives, one gathering at a time.
As we wrapped up the training, there was a tangible shift in the atmosphere. People came forward for prayer, inner healing, and restoration. Some wept. Others worshiped. All were met by the gentle, transformative presence of God.
We left Hola with full hearts. Not just because of what we had poured out, but because of what we had received in return; hope, encouragement, and fresh fire for the work ahead.
We thank God for the restoration and renewal we witnessed. And for the testimonies still being written, we remain deeply expectant.
How You Can Be Part of the Story
As we reflect on our time in Hola, we’re reminded that this kind of transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It takes a community, standing in prayer, giving generously, and believing with us that healing is possible in every heart and every village.
Would you consider partnering with us?
Pray for the growth of Subira’s youth ministry, Lawrence’s outreach among Muslims, Yunia’s home fellowship and for everyone who attended the training. Pray that the seeds planted would take deep root and bear lasting fruit.
Give towards future missions like this one. Your support helps us reach more communities with the message of inner healing, restoration, and hope. No gift is too small, every bit goes a long way.
Together, we can see lives changed, one heart at a time.
