What God Does for Us, He Does Through Us – DTA Alumni Testimonies
Every believer eventually moves from receiving God’s grace to carrying it. At Hope Alive Initiatives (Discipleship Training Academy), we pray that students leave with more than notes and certificates, and that what they received in the classroom will be lived out in their homes, churches, and communities.
Months after the 2026 training, the evidence is coming in. Three alumni, writing from different places, tell of forgiveness found, a soul won to Christ, and a door opened by God’s favor. Their stories differ, but each shows the same truth: what God does for us, He does through us.
I Was Sick and Needed a Doctor
“When I joined DTA, I was struggling with unforgiveness and did not know what I would take home. Through the teaching on the orphan spirit and the emotional healing sessions, I finally saw that I was sick and needed a doctor.”
Jesus said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick” (Matthew 9:12, ESV).
“Admitting my need was the doorway to healing. The orphan spirit said I am alone, but Romans 8:15 says “ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Then forgiveness became possible: “forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32, ESV).“
Passing on the healing
Healing is meant to be passed on. “One of our young women in church was heartbroken when her fiancé ended their relationship just a month before their wedding and went on to marry someone else. She was broken and by God’s grace she was healed and is back in church. What God did for me, He is doing through me: who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction. (2 Corinthians 1:4, ESV). All glory to Him!”
Freedom in an Inner Healing Session
“I met with my team for an inner healing session. Six people took part, and by God’s grace the only one who had not yet received Christ did so. God was in full control, and everyone testified to the impact and the freedom they now experience.”
Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives (Luke 4:18, ESV).
Heaven rejoiced too, for “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents” (Luke 15:10, ESV).
Favor That Opens Doors
Another student testifies “In my second week back home, I attended the Youth National Camp. I had not planned for it, but the Lord showed me favor. I was asked to give a one-hour presentation, something a young man had never done there unless he was a pastor. In the testimonies, most people spoke more about the impact of my teaching than of the others’. That is God.”
1 Timothy 4:12 encourages us to set an example as the young people and not to let anyone look down on us.”
Final Thoughts
These three testimonies remind us that God’s grace is never meant to end with the one who receives it. A heart healed of unforgiveness became a source of comfort for others. A team’s inner healing session ended with a soul saved. A young person was given a platform he had not planned for, and he gave all the glory back to God.
The same God who worked in these alumni is working in every believer who is willing to be both a recipient and a vessel. Where are you carrying what He has given you? Let us receive freely, give freely, and say with the psalmist, “Not unto us, O LORD, but unto Your name be the glory.” (Psalm 115:1)
What God did for us, He is doing through us. All glory to Him!
