Kwale Mission

Our vision at Hope alive Initiatives is to have hope restored to individuals, communities and christian organizations through wholistic empowerment. This is possible with like-minded partners and the help of the holy spirit. In line with this, our team held a follow-up visit with one of our Discipleship Training Academy (DTA) alumni in Shimoni, Kwale County. This was not just a visit, it was an opportunity to deepen relationships, bring healing and sow seeds of hope in a community striving to overcome pain and embrace new beginnings.

Training for Lasting Transformation

Over three impactful days, we led a training in one of the local churches that sought to address some of life’s deepest wounds and guide participants toward healing.

The training sessions covered vital topics such as freedom from unforgiveness, an introduction to inner healing, understanding the causes of suffering, healing from abuse and trauma, freedom from rejection, release from curses, and finding peace amidst the pain of loss. Additionally, we discussed spiritual foundations, exploring how land can hold altars and how this can impact communities.

These teachings resonated strongly with the participants, bringing clarity and a renewed sense of purpose to many. For those facing unresolved pain or long-standing emotional burdens, these sessions offered a pathway toward healing and freedom. By partnering with local churches, we aim to empower community members to address personal challenges through faith-based solutions, promoting emotional well-being and spiritual growth.

Testimony

“I thank God that you guys were timely. The teachings on inner healing have transformed how I carry myself. I have gotten keys to open some unlocked things in life. I hurt badly, and I didn’t forgive, I can confidently say after the teaching on forgiveness I have fully forgiven and I no longer hurt.”

Reaching the Unreached: An Encounter on Wasini Island

An essential part of our visit was reaching out to the surrounding communities, particularly those with limited exposure to the Gospel message. This mission of reaching the unreached remains central to our calling, as Christ’s love is intended for all people, transcending barriers of culture, religion, or background. Our journey led us to Wasini Island, a community with a deeply rooted Muslim heritage. Here, we encountered a woman burdened by significant family struggles. In listening to her story, we were able to share the hope found in the Gospel, and in a moment of divine encounter, she chose to surrender her life to Christ. This decision was a testament to the power of love and truth in transforming hearts, even in communities where Christianity is unfamiliar.

This experience emphasised the importance of missions and reaching out to the unreached. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14). Missions provide the critical opportunity to bring the message of hope to those who may never have heard it. When we extend ourselves to serve and share Christ’s love, we honour His command to make disciples of all nations. Moreover, these missions bring mutual blessing, transforming both those who receive and those who give.

DTA Success Story

Rebecca, an alumnus of the Discipleship Training Academy (DTA) was our host. She uses her craft (tailoring) as a ministry tool. Her work has touched the lives of many, with numerous testimonies of individuals whose hearts have been transformed through her efforts. As she shares the love of Christ while skillfully creating garments, Rebecca has become a beacon of hope and faith, leading many to embrace the gospel. Her story is a testament to how practical skills, when combined with a heart for service, can bring about lasting spiritual change in communities.

Gratitude

We are deeply grateful for the warm reception from the community and for the opportunity to bring hope and healing to those who need it most. Each connection and conversation is a reminder of the incredible impact we can make when we answer the call to serve others in the name of Christ; making a difference one life at a time.
