Trusting God Through Every Step

BY / 5 May, 2026

“We live by faith, not by sight.”2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)

There’s something uncomfortable about not seeing the full picture. We like clarity. We like knowing where things are going, how they’ll turn out, and when the breakthrough will come. But faith doesn’t work that way. Faith asks you to walk forward even when the path ahead looks blurred.

Life has a way of handing us situations we didn’t plan for, challenges that feel heavy, questions that don’t have quick answers, and moments that stretch us beyond what feels safe. In those moments, the natural instinct is to hold on tightly, to try and manage everything ourselves. But faith invites a different response.

It invites surrender.

Whenever you face a problem, there’s a quiet but powerful choice before you: place it in God’s hands or carry it on your own shoulders. Prayer becomes the turning point. Not just as a ritual, but as a real exchange. You hand it over. Fully. Not keeping a small piece tucked away “just in case.” Not revisiting it with anxiety every few hours. Just trust.

And that’s where the tension lies, doesn’t it? Letting go completely.

Jesus speaks right into that tension with calm authority: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me,” John 14:1. It’s not just encouragement, it’s an instruction. Don’t let your heart settle into worry. Don’t make a home in anxiety. Instead, lean into trust. Active trust. Daily trust.

Trust is not passive. It’s a decision you make again and again. Scripture puts it plainly: “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.” Psalm 62:8

At all times. Not just when things are working. Not just when prayers are being answered quickly. At all times, when you’re waiting, when you’re unsure, when things feel delayed or even silent. That kind of trust is raw and honest. It looks like pouring out your heart without filters, knowing you’re heard.

And here’s the quiet promise that follows a life of trust:

“Blessed is the one who makes the Lord his trust. “Psalm 40:4

Not the one who has everything figured out. Not the one who never struggles. But the one who chooses deliberately to trust God.

Faith doesn’t always remove the storm immediately. But it anchors you in the middle of it. It steadies your steps. It reminds you that even when you can’t see what’s ahead, God already stands there.

So today, whatever you’re carrying, release it. Not halfway. Not temporarily. Fully.

Let God lead. Let Him handle what you cannot control. And keep walking, one step at a time.

Not by sight… but by faith.
