HAI Hosts First Annual Interdenominational Ministers’ Retreat

BY / 10 March, 2020

According to our 2014 activity plan, we scheduled church pastors and leaders retreat for Savelugu area and by the grace of God the training came true on the 29th October, 2014 at the Physically Disabled Resource Center. Participants responded well to the invitation and were very happy about the program.

The Objectives of the Program:

  • To enhance fellowship among pastors in the Municipality where Hope Alive carries outreaches.
  • To create a platform for ministers to be encouraged and refreshed from their busy schedules.
  • To build bridges between our partnering churches and other churches in the district.
  • To build ministers capacity in the area of their calling and finances.
  • As a follow up activity in the Savelugu/Nanton Municipality.

Program Achievement

This program was one of the successful programs we have had for the past four years. We had an attendance of fifty five (55) participants across the Municipality covering of seven (7) denominations, first time in the history of HAI activities in this area.
Additionally, all of our objectives were accomplished by the grace of God and participants are zealously anticipating forward to another meeting in future. It was a moment of good fellowship and a time of seeking the face of the Lord for all the ministries and divine move of the Holy Spirit in all the churches of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Facilitator:

The facilitator for that day was Rev. Ibrahim Imoro, the Senior Pastor of Rock Assemblies of God Church, Bulipeila Tamale.

Observations/ Lessons Learnt

  • Programs of this caliber will be very helpful for Church leaders and work in the vineyard if it is done annually.
  • The Local Council of Churches in the Municipality has never gathered its member Churches like this program.
  • This program can go a long way to help foster a good relationship between other Local Churches who were not part of the programs of Hope Alive Initiatives in the Municipality. Over the last three years the noticeable impact of Hope Alive team has inspired the churches that were hesitant to join the wholistic training program.
  • We can also use programs of this kind to do program assessment in our various operational areas.
  • Next time it should be more than just one day and if possible residential to all participants.
  • The participants loved variety of speakers/facilitators.

Hope Alive Initiatives team was represented by four team members. They joined the Savelugu Trained workers in wholistic ministry in hosting the event.

It is our prayer that next year the event will have more days, workshops and plenary sessions to train the churches in wholistic ministry.
